Best paper at 2026 IEEE PES General Meeting!

Work by Tina Gao (Carnegie Mellon University), Shimiao Li (University at Buffalo) and Larry Pileggie (Carnegie Mellon University) won the Best Paper award at the 2026 IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) General Meeting for their paper “Sparsity-exploiting Gaussian Process for Robust Transient Learning of Power System Dynamics.” The IEEE PES General Meeting is recognized as the flagship conference in the power and energy engineering field. 1369 papers were submitted to the conference in 2026, and after peer review, only the top 60-80 accepted conference papers are included in the best paper program.
